This Privacy Policy applies to Richard Buckingham’s apps, websites, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

This page explains how I collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the Service. By choosing to use the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection and Use

Game Data: Progress such as scores, levels, or achievements is stored locally on your device. This data is not transmitted to me and remains under your control.

Third-Party Services: Some apps may integrate third-party services that collect information automatically. The legal basis for this processing is legitimate interest in providing and improving the Service. Information collected may include, but is not limited to, device type, operating system version, IP address, and usage statistics. Examples include:

  • AdMob – for displaying ads. AdMob may collect and process data for personalized advertising based on your consent (where required) or legitimate interest.
  • Firebase Analytics – for usage analytics to improve app performance and user experience.
  • Apple Game Center – for leaderboards, achievements, and multiplayer features. Through Game Center, I may see public gameplay information, such as high scores and achievements, but I do not have access to your Apple ID or other personal account information. Users can manage Game Center settings in their device’s Apple ID settings.
  • Apple App Analytics – Apple may collect anonymized usage information (such as crashes, app launches, and performance data) and share aggregated analytics with me. Users can opt out in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

Website Data: My website is hosted by DreamHost using WordPress. This may result in automatic collection of server logs including IP addresses, browser information, pages visited, and timestamps. I do not actively use this data, but it may be stored by the hosting provider according to their data retention policies.

Support Requests: If you contact me for support, you may voluntarily provide information such as your name, email address, device type, operating system version, screenshots, and the app you are using. This is the only personal information I directly collect and store. This information is used only to respond to your request and is not shared with any third parties.

Data Collection

When you use the Service, certain information may be collected automatically by third-party tools:

Log Data: In the event of an error or for performance monitoring, information such as your device’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, device name, operating system version, app configuration, usage time and date, and other statistics may be collected.

Cookies and Similar Technologies: Some apps may integrate third-party services (such as AdMob or Firebase) that use cookies or similar technologies to collect information and improve their services. My website may also use cookies to improve functionality, analyze traffic, or personalize content. You can control or disable cookies in your device or browser settings, but some features may not work properly if you do so.

Data Sharing

I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their commercial purposes. Information may only be shared with:

  • Third-party service providers (as listed above) who assist in providing the Service
  • Law enforcement or regulatory authorities when required by law
  • Other parties with your explicit consent

Data Retention

  • Support Communications: I retain support emails and communications for 2 years after the last contact to provide ongoing support. You can request deletion of these communications at any time.
  • Analytics Data: Collected and retained by Google (Firebase Analytics) and Apple according to their respective policies, typically 26 months for Google Analytics
  • Advertising Data: Collected and retained by Google AdMob according to their data retention policies
  • Local Game Data: Stored locally on your device and never transmitted to me. You can delete this data by clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling the app

Important Note: Beyond voluntary support communications, data may be automatically collected by my website hosting provider (DreamHost) and WordPress, including server access logs (IP addresses, pages visited, timestamps). Most app-related data collection is performed by third-party services (AdMob, Firebase, Apple).

For support communications: You can request access, correction, or deletion of any support emails you’ve sent me.

Depending on your location, you may have rights under various privacy laws (including GDPR in the EU, CCPA in California, LGPD in Brazil, PIPEDA in Canada, and others). However, since I don’t directly control most data collection, you’ll need to exercise these rights with the appropriate third-party service providers listed above.

I value your trust in providing personal information and strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect it. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. I cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Data Transfers

If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that information collected by third-party services integrated into my apps (such as AdMob, Firebase, and Apple services) may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers. These third-party services ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international transfers as required by applicable law.

The Service may contain links to external websites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. I have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites.

Children’s Privacy

Some of my apps may be suitable for children. However, I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU).

For parents and guardians:

  • Game progress is stored locally on the device only
  • Third-party services (AdMob, Firebase, Apple) may collect data – please review their privacy policies
  • If you believe your child has provided personal information through support communications, please contact me so I can delete it promptly
  • You can control data collection by managing device settings for advertising and analytics

Note: Apple’s Game Center has its own age restrictions and parental controls that you can manage in your device settings.

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. You are encouraged to review this page periodically for any changes. Updates are effective as soon as they are posted on this page.
